J2EE Developer

VivanTech has immediate openings for professional software engineers with 4+ years of hands-on experience developing robust web applications using J2EE.

New hires will enter a fast paced environment and are expected to immediately and positively contribute to team efforts, culture, and high quality deliverables.

The ideal candidate has a broad set of skills and take charge attitude toward work assignments while participating in a highly cooperative and collaborative team environment. Kuali experience is a big plus.

Required Experience

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in server-side web development
  • 4+ years of experience with J2EE
    • Servlets
    • JSP
    • Struts
    • Spring
  • 2+ years Database Experience
    • MySQL
    • Oracle
  • Demonstrated Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle
    • Coding (Eclipse, WSAD, etc.)
    • Version Control (SVN & CVS, etc.)
    • Unit testing (junit)
    • Debugging
    • Building & Deploying (Ant, Maven, Tomcat, etc.)

Availability

Full-time (40 hrs/week)

Preferred Experience

  • OJB
  • UML
  • Developing custom business applications in a consulting environment
  • Staying focused while working on software development team in a fast paced environment with multiple objectives
  • Interacting with development team members from multiple organizations
  • Using documentation tools (javadoc)
  • Kuali experience a big plus
  • Design Patterns

Necessary Skills

  • Good understanding of OOD and OOP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to be accountable for your work
  • Comfort with an open collaboration model in which all team members take shared responsibility for the quality of the system's design, code, automated testing procedures, and documentation
  • BA/BS from a four-year university/college or equivalent professional work experience
